3. Audio Editing: Next Steps
*Included is a 60-day extended trial & discount on Hindenburg Pro.
Monthly Storytelling Projects
Each month, we'll have prompts to guide your audio stories.
We'll make stories similar to this 👇

Loud & Queer is based on 3 main ideas
1. We hope to end the frustration of attending expensive classes without access to replays or follow-ups
We understand that a lot of audio educational spaces offer expensive classes and aren't necessarily neurodivergent-friendly. We acknowledge that people have different ways of learning. In our community, you can join live webinars, engage in meaningful discussions, and access replays whenever you need them.
There's a dedicated space to ask your peers questions about anything audio-related.
2. We hope you feel safer to be yourself
You don't have to scan the room for other queers or allies. We invite you to show up as your weird-ass self.
3. We want to encourage new folx to enter the world of audio podcasts & projects
Through optional monthly storytelling challenges, we can learn audio recording, editing, and storytelling by making short audio pieces.
Who is the community for?
- Anyone making audio-focused podcasts or audio projects
- Anyone who wants to learn how to record & edit spoken word audio
- Industry pros, hobbyists and people who want to continue learning and growing their audio skills
- Folx looking to connect with other like-minded audio nerds
I'm a pro and work in the industry, is this right for me?
Yes! If you want to...
- attend workshops to learn something new
- host workshops on something your an exert in
- get feedback and bounce ideas off of members
- ask questions
- connect with other audio folx
Let’s forget about - just while we're here - podcasting
Let's skip subscriber numbers, ID3 tags, RSS feeds, and how to find advertisers.
Let’s take a breath and listen. Listen to ourselves and other marginalized voices. Let’s record everything around us and turn it into purpose.
Let’s break what we’re used to hearing
and make something new.
Don't know how to audio?
Totally ok.
Three courses are included in the storytelling course ($400 value)
Courses include...
- Pro Audio Blueprint (all about gear and how to set it up)
- Audio Editing Foundation*
- Audio Editing: Next Steps*
If you already use a DAW, that's great. The projects and assignments are DAW-agnostic.
*The included audio editing courses are all in Hindenburg. (If you didn't get your 60-day extended trial - sign up for the waitlist and grab it there along with a free training.)
Chat with members in spaces
We'll have spaces to...
- Ask & answer questions
- Chat and connect
- Post projects & get feedback

The community will be held on the Circle platfrom.
Why is this only for queer folx?
Why a one-year commitment?
I'm a total beginner. Should I join?
Is there a refund?
Who's leading this?
Loud & Queer is led by me, Bek Johnson. I'm an audio engineer, podcast editor, & producer, course creator, and neurodivergent queerdo.
I'm also a cofounder of Sonder Recovery, an online peer-led recovery community for queers.
For over a decade I've worked on several podcasts from the Peabody award-winning show On Being with Krista Tippet, to fledging podcasters and educational institutions. I'm a senior trainer at Hindenburg and have led countless audio workshops and webinars.
I dropped out of audio school because of some bad experiences with sexism, and anti-queerness and a (then) undiagnosed learning disability. I'm greateful for that experience because it made me into the teacher I am now.

By joining Loud & Queer you agree to the following:
We have a zero-tolerance policy for anything racist, sexist, anti-queer, or ableist.
We live on Native land.
Trans rights are human rights.
Abortion is a human right.
Black Lives Matter.
If you disagree with these statements, this isn’t the place for you. I hope that one day it will be.
How much?
We use The Green Bottle method below.
